TV Console on a budget

Using the APP LETGO, I was able to snag a deal on a gorgeous TV console table and transform it to what I was envisioning.

I really wanted to update our TV console, but the beautiful wood and glass barn door console table from kirklands that I was eyeing was a bit out of my price range at $379.99. So, I had to get creative so that I could still have my TV stand, but also keep to my budget.

Designing on a budget

I've always been one to find a way to save a dollar. So, naturally, I looked around at antique shops and clearance sales. I never found what I was looking for. I decided to download the APP LETGO and was looking almost daily at TV stand options. I had filters on the app so that I would get notifications whenever there was a new TV stand within my budget that I might be interested in. Luckily, after a few weeks, I found it! The motherload! It was practically new, still had the kirklands tag on it even! It was missing one of the glass windows, but I had decided to remove one of the doors anyways. So it was a no brainer! I contacted the lady and set up a time to pick it up! And for less than $50, It was basically a steal!

Immediately after I bought the TV Stand. Still has the tag!

Designing

You might not be able to tell, but each little barn door has glass (except one door is missing the glass.) I loved the doors and was super happy that they had glass, however, I really didn't like that you could see all the junk I was trying to hide ( movies, books, etc.) I decided to spray paint the glass windows! I used LOOKING GLASS SPRAY PAINT from walmart to create a mercury glass look for extremely cheap! I didn't want it to be completely mirrored effect, but a more antiqued look. You will also want to make a solution of equal parts apple cider vinegar and water into a fine misting spray bottle.

Spray the inside of your glass. The paint is very thin and runs easily, but also dries VERY fast. Spray in short bursts about 6-8 inches away. I immediately sprayed the vinegar solution in random areas on the glass and using a cotton rag or paper towel, gently blot to achieve the distressed look you're looking for. Repeat these steps until you have your desired look!I wanted mine to be completely covered so that you couldn't see inside so I did this 3 times. I let it dry and BOOM! It is beautiful and just what I was picturing for my TV Console table..AND I saved a TON of money! Win-Win!

After removing one door and spray painting the remaining two doors
